research purpose:

celeste ng is one of the most well-known asian writers, whose works usually show strong conflicts between native american and asian culture in family life. everything i never told youis her masterpiece, in which five family members are caught in a struggle of intimacy because of inappropriate communication under the cross-cultural background. by analyzing the alienated ways of communication in novels based on the educational psychological theory and intercultural communication theory, the paper aims to explore specific influences on relationships between family members and gives feasible suggestions for improvement in real life.
